2012-2013 Nomination Information

Faculty Excellence Award



Columbia Gorge Community College, in cooperation with the Columbia Gorge Community College Foundation, gives a Faculty Excellence Award each year to honor excellence among its many dedicated instructors. This annual award will go to an instructor who embodies our college mission to build dreams and transform lives by making a difference inside and outside the classroom.

PLEASE NOTE: All nominations are due by May 1, 2013. 


Any part-time or full-time faculty employed one or more terms during the current academic year at Columbia Gorge Community College is eligible for the award. A recipient of the award will not be eligible to win the award in two consecutive years.

Faculty members on the award selection committee are not eligible for the award.  Some faculty will be part of the 2012-2013 selection process and will not be eligible. 


Nomination forms are available to the college community via the college website and are due May 1, 2013.  The selection committee will meet to review the nomination forms and choose the recipient during weeks six or seven of the 2013 spring term. The recipient will be informed of the committee’s decision in advance of the award presentation at the college graduation ceremony.

The Award

The annual award will include a plaque for the faculty member, a $500 award from the College Foundation to be used either for a professional development activity of the recipient’s choice or as a one-time cash award, and a revolving plaque on display by the Class Act Café at Columbia Gorge Community College.
